You should upgrade or use an alternative browser.

Always use protection when engaging in Fortnite on PS4I logged into my PC account on the PS4 once to see performance after the 60fps patch and it has a Playstation flavored venereal disease and can't be used anywhere else now.I made a new account and don't play on PS4 at all anymore.
- #52
You should reread was Starset said. But that's not what Starset said. It worked for him.
- #53
No he didn't. He said he can play with Xbox friends if he plays on PC.But that's not what Starset said. It worked for him.
What he can't do is play on his own Xbox (or Switch) with that same account.
- #54
WHAAAAAT?!! I thought this is exactly what Sony prevented people from doing! I'm so confused now. What was that 300 page thread about then?
You can still play with Xbox and Switch peeps on PC, but you can't use your account on a Switch or Xbox once it's been on a PS4.
- #55
Here is my setupBut that's not what Starset said. It worked for him.
ME:
PS4 <------> PC
Friend 1 - Xbox One
Friend 2 - PC
Friend 3 - PS4
Friend 4 - Switch
Who I can play with on PS4:
Friend 2 and Friend 3
Who I can play with on PC
(Friends 1, 2, 4) OR (Friend 2 and Friend 3)
As far as I am aware, you CANNOT transfer progression from PS4 -> PC -> Xbox One / Switch. And I cannot log into my Epic Games account onto Xbox One or Switch. BuT PS4 and PC cross progression is seamless.
- #56
what? so you got all your skins and STW progression? I don't play pvp, i only play PVE co-op mode. I need that progression once, i don't want cross play.Uh yeah he can. I started my Fortnite account on PS4, linked my PS4 account to my PC Epic Games account and I can play with my Xbox friends on PC.i can freely still use PC and PS4 whenever the hell I want and its cross progression.
- #57
Xbox One and Switch both support seamless cross progression. With PC, and with each other. Here is my setupME:
PS4 <------> PCFriend 1 - Xbox One
Friend 2 - PC
Friend 3 - PS4
Friend 4 - SwitchWho I can play with on PS4:
Friend 2 and Friend 3Who I can play with on PC
Friends 1, 2, 3 OR Friend 2 and Friend 3As far as I am aware, you CANNOT transfer progression from PS4 -> PC -> Xbox One / Switch. BUT PS4 and PC cross progression is seamless. Apparently Xbox one does not support this
You can't transfer progression to Xbox. You can transfer it to PC, but only to PC (or mobile). You can play with Xbox players if you play on PC, but you can't play on an Xbox yourself if you've ever associated your account with PSN.what? so you got all your skins and STW progression? I don't play pvp, i only play PVE co-op mode. I need that progression once, i don't want cross play.
- #58
I get it now. So you still need PC to be able to play with them. Yup, Sony is nuts :)Here is my setupME:
PS4 <------> PCFriend 1 - Xbox One
Apparently Xbox one does not support this
- #59
I created an Epic Gamse account on PC, linked my PS4 account and everything I did on PS4 carried over to PC. I do not know if this applies to Save the World however.what? so you got all your skins and STW progression? I don't play pvp, i only play PVE co-op mode. I need that progression once, i don't want cross play.
- #60
I think he just had a small typo. I believe it should read like:Xbox One and Switch both support seamless cross progression. With PC, and with each other. You can't transfer progression. You can play with Xbox players if you play on PC, but you can't play on an Xbox yourself if you've ever associated your account with PSN.
Friends 1, 2, 4 OR Friend 2 and Friend 3
Edit: Oops, I misunderstood what you were saying. I still think that's a typo though.

- #62
Corrected. I read somewhere that was not support for other platforms but I guess that info was wrong.Xbox One and Switch both support seamless cross progression. With PC, and with each other.
- #63
That's honestly the main reason I dumped the PS4 account. Being able to play at Starbucks with the same account I use at home on my Xbox One X. Or PC with M/KB if I want to get really tryhard.Corrected. I read somewhere that was not support for other platforms but I guess that info was wrong.

#4THEPLAYERS!!
- #65
Technically not true. You can play in the PC ecosystem and then play with Xbox One and Switch users. But inconvient and probably costly if you dont own a PC that can run Fortnite? Most definitely but it is possible.NOPE. You're locked into Sony's ecosystem.#4THEPLAYERS!!
- #66
I will NOT work. But im not transfering from PS4. My progress is going to Epic account on PC and then from there it's going to Xbox. What Epic account has to do with Sony PSN?Are you guys sure it won't work? anyone tried this method?
As soon as a PSN Account touches your EPIC account it is locked down for switch or Xbox
- #67
As far as consoles go, you're totally locked in to their ecosystem.Technically not true. You can play in the PC ecosystem and then play with Xbox One and Switch users. But inconvient and probably costly if you dont own a PC that can run Fortnite? Most definitely but it is possible.
Crossplay was never the issue here. The issue was blocking you from using your account on other consoles, even if it only touched a PS4 once.

So account can get transfered but skins, vbucks and story progression nd all, will not? Basically i have to start fresh game on xbox?Xbox One and Switch both support seamless cross progression. With PC, and with each other. You can't transfer progression to Xbox. You can transfer it to PC, but only to PC (or mobile). You can play with Xbox players if you play on PC, but you can't play on an Xbox yourself if you've ever associated your account with PSN.
- #72
I just dont think "You're locked into Sony's ecosystem" is a good way to put it. Those types of comments will generate confusion (like OP right now). "You're locked into the Sony console ecosystem" or something along those lines would be better. As far as consoles go, you're totally locked in to their ecosystem.Crossplay was never the issue here. The issue was blocking you from using your account on other consoles, even if it only touched a PS4 once.
I always thought Cross play AND cross progression was the issue people had? MY biggest gripe was no cross play

Don't care about cross play. I wish they will allow us to transfer progress just once just like GTA Online allowed 360 progress to goto PC and then to PS4 or PS3 to PC and then to Xbox one nd all.Unlike cross-play, there is literally nothing Sony gains by hijacking your Fortnite account. Other than bad press.
- #75
No, account can't be "transferred."So account can get transfered but skins, vbucks and story progression nd all, will not? Basically i have to start fresh game on xbox?
Accounts don't actually transfer at all. It's all seamless cross-progression. There are basically two Epic accounts:
Type 1: accounts that can be played on PC, PS4, and mobile
Type 2: accounts that can be played on PC, Xbox One, Switch, and mobile
You're type 1. Your progress will automatically be synced up if you play on PS4, PC, or mobile. There's nothing to transfer.
You can never convert a type 1 account to type 2 though. You can't even log in with your account on an Xbox or Switch. You can play with Xbox/Switch players if you yourself play on PC, but that's it.
No, the issue blew up when the game released on Switch and people realized they couldn't use their same account on their Switch, even if they unlinked their Epic ID from PSN.I just dont think "You're locked into Sony's ecosystem" is a good way to put it. Those types of comments will generate confusion (like OP right now). "You're locked into the Sony console ecosystem" or something along those lines would be better.I always thought Cross play AND cross progression was the issue people had? It always worked that way with Xbox One, but there would seem to be more people who own both a PS4 and Switch than people who own both a PS4 and Xbox One. So the Switch release is what created the controversy.
- #76
Thing is it's not even transferring. Your Epic account already stores all information across every single platform by default. Everything is already "transferred". But you can't use that Epic account on Xbox/Switch if it was ever linked to PSN. If I had an Xbox and wanted to play Fortnite, I would have to make a brand new Epic account. That's beyond stupid and provides no benefit to me as a ps4 owner and can only serve to piss me off, and I can't see any damn benefit to Sony as a business either. It's just illogical on all levels.Don't care about cross play. I wish they will allow us to transfer progress just once just like GTA Online allowed 360 progress to goto PC and then to PS4 or PS3 to PC and then to Xbox one nd all.

Shit, they never told me this bs when i linked my account. Why Epic didn't warn users about this when they were linking it man? Epic is so stupid, they are also at fault here imo.
- #78
They did add some warnings after this blew up on Switch. But yeah, it's shitty.Shit, they never told me this bs when i linked my account. Why Epic didn't warn users about this when they were linking it man? Epic is so stupid, they are also at fault here imo.
- #79
Like they were not aware that Xbox and PS rivals and will never agree to all this? They should asked both companies about this before allowing players link their accounts. They did add some warnings after this blew up on Switch. But yeah, it's shitty.
- #80
It's assumed they did and that this was a stipulation of the deals they initially made with Sony for Paragon.Like they were not aware that Xbox and PS rivals and will never agree to all this? They should asked both companies about this before allowing players link their accounts.
- #81
- #82
Imagine my surprise when, having never played Fortnite before, I downloaded the game on Xbox and tried to log in to my Epic account.Sony acting like a dick no doubt, but Epic also equally responsible. It's so bs that you can't use on Xbox even after removing the psn link from epic account.
Blocked from even starting because I made the fatal mistake of playing Paragon on PS4. lol
Epic would let you play on Xbox if they could, it's their agreement with Sony prevents it. And Sony is the platform leader, they can't just not release the game on PS4.
This is the best solution Epic is able to offer. They're bitter about it too.

- #84
But look on the bright side, that PS4 exclusive skin is pretty cool.
- #85
That's why people call it "Sony jail."What? Block from playing Fortnite on Xbox coz you played Paragon on PS4? The fuk? What playing Paragon has to do with playing Fortnite on Xbox?
It has nothing to do with actual gameplay. Just Sony being complete assholes.
- #86
That's why people call it "Sony jail."It has nothing to do with actual gameplay. Just Sony being complete assholes.
But game is different. You not buying or transferring anything from PS to Xbox. I think your problem must be something else. I find this hard to believe. They are two separate games, Sony not that shitty. lol
I think your situation is related to epic account contacting support should fix it.
- #87
Not anymore. I want to delete those skins and get some xp for my other much better looking heroes lolSorry op, Sony got you by the balls. But look on the bright side, that PS4 exclusive skin is pretty cool.

The message you get it is something like "this account can not be used as it has been previously associated with a platform that does not allow it to transfer. There is nothing Epic support can do to fix this. Please create another account." Someone probably has the screenshot from the Switch version.
Again, it has nothing to do with gameplay or store purchases. Sony locks down your account because they want you to be stuck playing on PS4. That's all it is.
Yep. This entire thing really soured me on PSN in general. I'll be buying all future multiplayer games on other platforms. I let my PS+ expire.honestly for any future games you plan on getting into that have cross play features start playing them on PC or Xbox. very unlikely that it will close you out of options in the future.
Really all I can do. :-/
- #90
But that was for Fortnite. Your said you couldn't play Fortnite on Xbox coz you play Paragon on PS4? This doesn't make and sense ad don't think this is true coz games are different. This is some Epic account only problem. They are that shitty. The message you get it is something "this account can not be used as it has been previously associated with a platform that does not allow it to transfer. There is nothing Epic support can do to fix this. Please create another account." Someone probably has the screenshot from the Switch version.

You're right that it doesn't make sense. It's total bullshit. That's why everyone made a big deal about it.But that was for Fortnite. Your said you couldn't play Fortnite on Xbox coz you play Paragon on PS4? This doesn't make and sense ad don't think this is true coz games are different. This is some Epic account only problem.
I synced my PSN to my Epic account in Paragon. That's all it takes—syncing your PSN account. Once you do that, you're stuck on PS4 with that account. Doesn't matter what the game is. Sony doesn't let you use a PSN-associated Epic account on other platforms. It's an account lock, not a game lock.
Epic can't do anything about it. If they want to release their game on Sony's platform, they have to agree to Sony's rules.
- #92
It's at Sony's behest though. Epic has no recourse besides not releasing their games on PS4, which obviously they're not going to do.But that was for Fortnite. Your said you couldn't play Fortnite on Xbox coz you play Paragon on PS4? This doesn't make and sense ad don't think this is true coz games are different. This is some Epic account only problem.

Their alternative was to not release their game for PS4.It's insane that Epic even agreed to let accounts be held hostage if they ever do much as logged in on PS4.
What were they supposed to do? Sony had them by the balls.
- #96
Why this not covered by mainstream media ? Xbox would have been crucified for this by fanboys lol.
- #97
The shouting of people telling those who were complaining to shut up was louder than the complaining was. That loud HUGE minority of Sony fans just shut it down. Not to mention Sony's silence said more than anything. It is absurd that the Sony ballstink forever taints Fortnite accounts. Really insane how Sony just got away with this shit.
- #98

Oh please you seem to be the only person who has no idea along with OP.
- #99
Man, this locks all Epic games not just Fortnite ?Why this not covered by mainstream media ? Xbox would have been crucified for this by fanboys lol.
To be honest RevenantAxe, I'm surprised to find you asking this question as though you don't already know the answer, given your extensive participation is every thread so far on this topic and countless other cross-play threads, in which you can easily be quoted defending Microsoft [when they didn't need defending] and lambasting Sony at every turn for the decision to lock Fortnite accounts to the PS4. Yet here you are, as though you have bumped your head and lost all memory...
I would say this thread has gone exactly as you expected it to, if I didn't know better ;)
- #100
Well with Paragon shut down, Fortnite is the only game affected.Man, this locks all Epic games not just Fortnite ?Why this not covered by mainstream media ? Xbox would have been crucified for this by fanboys lol.
As to your second question, it was indeed covered pretty heavily. Sony can just do no wrong in the eyes of many. Their legion of apologists is massive, even here on Era.
